First Week Sales for Lil Uzi Vert x Future, NBA Youngboy, Kodak Black & More
A lot of great projects came out in the last week, NBA Youngboy released his mixtape Until I Return, Lil Uzi Vert & Future finally released their collab album Pluto x Baby Pluto, 2 Chainz dropped his album So Help Me God! & Kodak Black with his release from prison Bill Israel.
With this being Youngboy’s 4th full length project in 2020, and selling 30,000 copies in the first week, it is a huge win for the NBA team. The 15 track project is well put together, but had little to no promotion compared to Youngboy’s regular album rollout. Let us know what you think of Until I Return below.
Being Kodaks first release since 2018, and the fact his promotion is limited due to him being in jail at the time of release of Bill Israel. Kodak had five features over 11 tracks in which he truly had his classic clever wordplay across the whole album. Being released on 11/11, a Tuesday, could have affected album sales because it is usually on a Friday-to-Friday basis. Kodak sold just over 16,000 copies on his project Bill Israel, however, we consider this a huge win for the Sniper gang team and Kodak because of their limited promotions.
One of the most anticipated collaboration albums was released last Friday and the sales show that fans have loved every second of the project. Pluto x Baby Pluto starts off with the perfect track Stripes like Burberry and the sets the tone for the remainder of the project. The 16 song record was well worth the wait, and it is a big success for both artists as they sold over 106,000 first week. With the new standards of record sales, this is one of the most impressive drops of the year.
After multiple release delays, 2 Chainz is back with his release So Help Me God! which in my opinion, is one of the most underrated projects for the year with respect to album sales. 2 Chainz sold 27,000 copies with this album release, which is not bad but for the content that he put out, I thought he would be closer to 50,000.
