Beyoncé's 'RENAISSANCE' First Week Sales

Beyoncé is back with her first album release since 2016’s Lemonade and released RENAISSANCE on July 29, 2022. RENAISSANCE’s first week sales are officially in, coming in at 335, 695 units first week - landing her the number one overall spot for album sales this week. This is Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, released through Colombia Records and Parkwood Entertainment and is considered her first installment of a trilogy project.

The album has 3 features across 16 tracks coming from TEMS, BEAM, and Grace Jones and is 1 hour and two minutes in length.

People are claiming this album failed when comparing it to Lemonade’s first week sales, as it’s sales were 600,000+ units first week, however it is not the case whatsoever. Beyoncé has one of the highest selling albums in their first week of 2022 (So far) & both albums were marketed differently, had different sounds and an overall different reach.

RENAISSANCE itself will probably go down as one of the most successful projects released during the COVID-19 years, as artists, management & labels had to adjust the promotion of an album release, as clubs, shows & full tours were halted for a period of time. Selling over 300,000 copies was always impressive but to do so with limited marketing opportunities during the pandemic years will go down in history for Beyoncé’s discography.
